september

last game of the summer. the boys always get a sugar high on all the treats.

spending the last few minutes of sun in one of our favorite places (i make it sound like we live in antartica).

first day of school. sully is in second grade and tagg is in fifth!

craig and i went to italy! this was our little b&b in venice.

it felt like a movie set! the water and architecture was unreal. i loved it!

rialto bridge. like the times square of venice but prettier.

craig got us a water taxi (a pretty, wooden, private boat) for our ride back to the airport. i loved every single second of it.

then we headed down to tuscany to a villa b&b. i had basically googled "villa with a pool in tuscany". haaa worth my research!

craig picked me a few grapes from the backyard. they were yummy but had seeds in them. no thanks.

the sunset on our walk over to dinner was gorgeous. so i guess we had to kiss?

loved getting pictures of the kids back home. the time difference was creepy tho! we would be finding a place for dinner while they were having breakfast.

thomas (the b&b owner) surprised us with this breakfast up our first morning. it was stunning.

we took a trip over to pisa.

and a little town called lucca. it still has a wall around the entire city and you can walk/ride bikes on top. it was seriously one of the most magical moments of our trip.

we loved lucca.

the following day we went down to florence. or firenze apparently. it david was very and very big and we had the best sandwich and gelato. and the most traffic fines.

the next day we met up with my parents in ROME.

the pantheon and lots of people.

trevi fountain.

the roman forum was one of my favorite spots.

we had the best time traveling with these two.

the colosseum was fascinating, huge & i loved it.

craig, my mom, me and our guide, francesco. he was very..... informative. the saint peters basilica was impressive. lots of details and symbolism.

after rome, it was the amalfi coast.

classy.

our hotel in amalfi was an old, renovated convent. it was beautiful.

swimming in the saltiest, prettiest water ive even been in.

clearly, craig was miserable.

could this get more picturesque?

we had one of our favorite meals on a rooftop, under the lemons trees. we you eat at 7.30pm, you beat the dinner crowd. early birds!

we were very sad to miss the pnw devotional at safeco and the prophet. but im glad my aunt was able to take tagg and sully.

back in italy......we took the ferry over to positano.

we walked around, had the best lemon slush, bumped into a crazy lady from back home and ate at this fantastic restaurant.

the following day, we chartered a boat to capri. it was our favorite day of the trip! our captain took us to hidden little grottos and we jumped in. it was amazing. it was like we were swimming in pirates of the carribean, but better!

heading back to amalfi, our captain took us by positano one last time.

we freshened up and walked into town for dinner. all those steps!

our last morning in amalfi we relaxed at the pool and had lunch under the bougainvillea. it was all so memorable. like something out of a movie.

after amalfi, we went over to pompeii. i. loved. pompeii. it was a gorgeous afternoon and every little detail was so fascinating.

mount vesuvius. glad we werent there when that erupted.

this poor guy was. nor sure why im smiling so big. kinda weird to be doing that next to a dead man. craig, get off your phone. i dont care what youre researching.
