i'm a big girl now

i just purchased my very own sewing machine! and i have been going to town on a few projects ever since it arrived on my door step. dont even ask about the point of this circus quilt. i realize i have a son and that this quilt is a tad on the feminine side. but i just loved all the fabrics.

and its not like it can be an airplane quilt for me because i am 26. still like it though.

a few years ago, my mom made me an amazing chenille quilt. i use it every nite and have wanted to try and duplicate it for some time. and i always like me some shabby chic! so this is my version of the "spa quilt".

and i made a freaking dress. i bought a dress from target a couple months ago and literally wear it every other day (its to the point where i think people might wonder if i bathe...). it is just so comfortable and perfect for fatness. i thought: how hard could it possibly be to make a copy?! um, hard. as my mom said: and this is why people buy clothes in stores. but thanks to her help we put this little ditty together and now i have an alternate to my target dress.

he's basically a teenager
in the past week, tagg went to the nursery for the first time for all TWO hours without craig/me AND got his first official haircut. now, one might ask why tagg needed to trim his ten strands of hair and that would be a valid question. but there was a clump in the back that was quite long and so off we went to see HOLLY!

he was such a good boy. and it had nothing to do with the m&ms being shoved in his mouth the whole time. honestly though, he was quite the little gentleman.

22+ weeks

please excuse my hand and the stupid position i put it in for this shot. the pregnancy is going fabulously. i feel great and am more than halfway! we are all looking forward to august to find out who is kicking around in my tummy.

celebratory dinners
a couple of weeks ago, we dined at palisades for megan's birthday. palisades is a seattle institution. i had never been there before but it was quite the experience. the food was ok but the people watching and seattle scenery was fabulous. very fun.

then last weekend, david closed on a big deal at his firm so we went out to ruth's chris to celebrate. the food was fantastic (craig is officially obsessed) and i loved a quality nite out with the big kids.

not normal on any level

1. i did not teach tagg to shoot himself.
2. there is a t-shirt i saw a couple of months ago that reads: boys will be boys. tagg doesnt need that shirt. he needs that tattooed on his forehead.

.....on second thought, i probably shouldnt be talking about tattoos with my son. i think my work is already cut out for me as it is.

elliot

last week, i went over to emily's to take some real shots of the baby. boy, did he loooove being on his tummy.

i am obsessed with elliot's little cowlick. i call it the "elvis". come to think of it...... hope that doesnt annoy emily.....

he didnt care too much for being exposed to the elements (and by elements i mean the toasty living room) so we bundled him up for most of the session.

i would have bet my life on the fact that elliot would have come out looking just like his daddy (andrew has deep olive skin and dark dark hair) but he is a clone of emily and her family. he is one adorable little boy.

speaking of babies......

here's me, (looking like i kill people) at my half-way-there! ultrasound. i cant even begin to explain how odd this ultrasound doctor was so i wont. but trust me, if you were in the room you would have been laughing.

tagg's little sibling. tagg was downright adorable during the entire ultrasound. he sat on craig's lap (a WONDER) and when it was over he said, "thank you, baby."

ok, so like craig says: if i am going to spend soooo much time trying to decipher an ultrasound to figure our the baby's gender i should have just asked the doctor. but i love the suspense too much! this is the shot where i was sure it was girl. but then there was another shot (dont have an image of it. annoying) where there was a definite little "nodule". guess we'll see in august......

emily's baby

andrew and emily welcomed their perfect little baby boy to the earth last nite.

i invited myself to the hospital this afternoon so i could soak up the new babyness.

as i was driving home from the hospital i had a huge smile on my face. there is nothing like being around newborns. they are sweet and everyone is so happy and peaceful.

easter festivities

tagg loved hunting for eggs in the front yard. i will be happy when this closing-of-the-eyes-during-pictures phase is over.

on easter morning, tagg found his basket with all his favorite stuff inside: toy story crap and candy!

turns out, the little fiend had gotten ahold of his basket when it was still hidden in my closet and nibbled at the cadbury egg. we asked him if he had eaten the foil and he said "YES!"

craig and tagg recieved matching mariners hats in their baskets. i cannot wait to take tagg to his first game this season.

tagg wanted his bunny to have his picture taken. he shoved it into my lens and said "cheeeeeese."

ahhhhh... only a face a mother could love. seriously, he looks like a little too happy in this shot. it was odd because when we took him to sit on santa's lap he wasnt having it but when he saw the bunny he ran up to him and insisted on having his picture taken.

a first

every time i see a burlap pillow in a store i am tempted to buy it. but for some reason, they are always quite pricey. so i decided to make one myself. i have never made a pillow before but it was about the easiest thing ever. i cannot wait to put this on the couch in our new place.

the gorgeous quilt was a birthday present from my mom. i love it to pieces.
