taggs a big boy now

so there, M. when tagg was told that santa wouldnt come unless he was potty trained that was enough motivation for the BOTH of us. think of what that christmas morning would have looked like! so.... besides a couple of accidents (thanks to ME breaking the cardinal potty-training-rule: do not leave the house.... i get cabin fever just thinking about cabin fever. and no amount of potty training is going to cure me) tagg is pretty much diaper free. here comes santa claus!

"OH MY GOSH. IT LOOKS LIKE CHRISTMAS!"

thats what tagg yelled out when he saw the snow this morning. i guess i know what makes tagg smile on command now. excuse his just-woke-up-slash-kinda-looks-paralyzed-face.

there is NOTHING like waking up to a surprise snow storm. why is snow so magical?

probably because it only happens about twice a year here and never becomes a big problem. i guess thats why its so exciting in seattle.

sully, all snugly on my bed after his favorite time of day, bath time!

tagg cannot stop eating the snow. craig told him it was water flavored ice cream and now he cant get enough. happy winter!

short but sweet

i did not think it was possible for another human being to want as much attention as tagg does. i was wrong. those two are clones.

sully doesnt know if he should cry of laugh. tagg can do that to a person. tagg's version of rudolph the red nosed reindeer is too cute: rudolph for yoooouuu. rudolph for yoooou.

ps. please dont judge tagg and his dang diaper (i do enough of that every day). we are working on it and tagg has been informed that santa wont come unless he is in big boy underwear. and pointers?

my baby.

a little update. sully is a very good baby. he is fourteen pounds now. i know this because we paid a visit to CHILDRENS ER HOSPITAL last saturday nite because he had a fever of 102.5! (long story short: he had a pretty decent fever for three+ days. blood work came back ok so we assume it was just a bug) he sleeps thru the nite now (thanks to a little formula nite cap) and LOVES watching tagg play. serisouly, his little eyes follow tagg all around the room. he is either thinking "oh crap. what am i in for?" or "YES. i cannot wait to get in on that action."

riding the bus

craig has been riding the bus down to UW for over four years now. a couple months ago, he took tagg for a ride on it. now thats all tagg cares about. "i want to go on the bus at nite with dad!" so last nite, the four of us piled in the car, drove three minutes to the park & ride and dropped craig and tagg off so they could ride the bus ONE stop over to target. tagg was in heaven. craig said that when the bus started going tagg yelled, "HEEEEERE WE GO!" ahhh. the simple pleasures in life.

these ginger cookies are the epitome of autumn. they go so fast. as in, i have made two full batches in the past two days....

ginger cookies

1/2 cup butter

1/4 cup crisco

1 cup sugar

1 egg

1 teaspoon ginger

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon cloves

1/4 cup molasses

2 1/4 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

preheat oven to 375 degrees. cream butter, shortening, and sugar. add remaining ingredients. roll dough into balls and coat with coarse sugar (a must!). bake for about 10 minutes.

the springs BABY!

last week, i had the pleasure of visiting my best friend, jocelyn, in colorado springs. i was supposed to go a couple weeks earlier but because of my annoying pneumonia i had to postpone. so by the time i got there i was ready to party.

and by party i mean eating lots of good food. one of the musts while i was visiting was to eat at texas roadhouse. craig and i ate there every friday nite while we in college. the hot rolls with cinnamon butter are out of this world.

the babies were SO good the entire weekend. they put up with our running around to target, hobby lobby, gatherings and the outlets. see? i told you we partied.

on thursday nite, we had jocelyn's friends over, reagan and kera, to watch the final episode of project runway. jocelyn made cookies for our guests. lets just say they didnt turn out.

wondering why this picture is so far away? because it was about the tenth time we had kindly asked brady to take our picture and i think he was done.

twinners. i had a great time in colorado springs. and i was very happy jocelyn was able to meet sully. hopefully it wont be too long before i see her mug again.....

yesterday, i took some family portraits of the bean family. the weather was gorgeous!

and i have to say, that for four little kids, they did pretty darn well.

halloween nite 2010

yup. tagg was a skeleton for the third year in a row. this year, we added the creepy make up. he loved it.

tagg had such a great time trick-or-treating with grace and casey (not pictured). what more could i boy ask for? getting free candy with his two idols...

oh yeah, and his third idol made an appearance that nite too! jack the skeleton. tagg was obsessed!

craig and i spent the whole nite following tagg around and trying to get my camera to take good shots in the dark. this was me practicing. that beard is a little out of control.

before trick-or-treating, we had a great dinner with our family and friends. we brought pumpkin cupcakes to contribute.

sully, with my favorite costume ever. the picture doesnt do it justice.... its a perfect round ball. i love it. so much so, that he might be a pumpkin for the next three years too!
