a little bit of everything that is important to meit is SUCH a treat for louis to get up on the high shelf in our closet. he purrrrs so loudly when he is up there that i can hear him from another room.

sam has the most interesting hair i have ever seen on a human. my mom and him have such a great time together. they are bffs.

we camped outside the old jetta to eat our cubans in celebration of my dad's birthday. craig always looks like the sasquatch.

i had to hurry and snarf down my lunch because tagg wanted to get out of his car seat and enjoy the beautiful day. i swear, when it is sunny in seattle it is the most beautiful place.

tagg needed a little lunch too.

stoic.

after cuban, we went to get some much needed cupcakes.

the smith family.

my dad is so very cute with tagg. they love each other so much.

last night, we met up with craig's parents for dinner. tagg smiled and cooed for them. i was so proud of my happy little boy.

tagg made himself a little "jj putz". for all of you non-mariner fans.... jj putz is a pitcher on the mariners and has a bright red goatee. tagg was watching the game and thought he would fashion himself a goatee out of bubbles. we've got a smart one.

when the pack of wolves get their paws on cupcakes.... i was so proud of myself yesterday because i had eaten a low-cal lunch and taken a vigorous walk around the neighborhood with tagg. then, my aunt brought these puppies over. oh well. i ate my share, then craig ate his, then my mom, and so on and so on.......

basically, my family takes their sweets seriously. and these are the BEST store-bought cupcakes i have ever tried. (including the bakery on bleeker street) we are very excited though, because these cupackes are from this little bakery downtown.... now we have somewhere to go to cleanse our palates after cuban. rough life.

last night, i was saying how i feel like i am completely surrounded by the male species. wonder why i feel like that....... gotta love them.

talk about taking things seriously. tagg takes his "talk" time very seriously. dont get me wrong, he does lighten up, but only during "smile" time. everything has it place ok?. no, but honestly, i think he has his dad's personality. pretty quiet and chill.

hanging with his hoodiethis was the first outfit i bought after i find out i was pregnant. i didnt know if i was going to have a boy or a girl so i thought it was pretty unisex. however, now that i have my little boy in it, i cannot imagine it being a girl outfit.

i cant decide whether or not to buy a replacement camera. i feel like the second i go out and buy a new one, i will find my old camera. however, how long can i go without one? i HAVE to document tagg's life. decisions, decisions.

no camerai have lost my camera. so these mac photos will have to hold me over for now. here are a couple of updates: he has been building up to it, but last night he slept through the entire night. i was so incredibly proud of him. his hair is slowly but surely coming in. yay. he loves his daddy and grandpa, he smiles for them all the time.

also, tagg has discovered his hand and tongue. he plays with them all the time. sometimes, they even get in the way of eating time. :) silly. i love him so much. i cannot believe he is all mine.

a number two with no cilantroi just had to document our obsession. my mom, aunt, and i make the 30 minute trek down to this little hut to have the BEST sandwiches ever. this is the line of other fools dying for the messy goodness.

this is the infamous cuban sandwich. the yummy so-moist-it-falls-out-everywhere meat is hidden under the lettuce in this picture. but trust me, i found it.

this is tagg. he always waits in the car while someone goes and waits in the long line. he is such a good boy to let his momma enjoy her meal in peace.

you have to eat your sandwich in the car because there is no seating in the shack. pretty much every car within a 5 mile radius is filled with people devouring their sandwiches.

ok, so forget about the "eating in peace" part. usually he is a good boy but today he wanted to get in on the action.

and he paid the price!

ok, enough of the cuban sandwich place. these next few pictures are some of my recent favorites. i love his lips.

i got this little striped top for him today. i love the colors on him.

this is tagg and me at our first movie together. we saw "run, fat boy, run". it was SO good. i totally recommend seeing it.

i LOVE this picture of him. it makes me smile every time i look at it. he looks like such a big boy.

naughty little thingshere is a new recipe for amaZing chocolate cake. i, of course, always opt for cupcakes instead of cakes so i made these little suckers. boxed mixes are usually the way to go.......... however if one was in the mood for some high-class baked goods one should try the following:

chocolate cake
adapted from smitten kitchen

3 ounces fine-quality semisweet chocolate
1½ cups hot brewed coffee
3 cups sugar
2½ cups all-purpose flour
1½ cups unsweetened cocoa powder (not Dutch process)
2 teaspoons baking soda
¾ teaspoon baking powder
1¼ teaspoons salt
3 large eggs
¾ cup vegetable oil
1½ cups well-shaken buttermilk
¾ teaspoon vanilla

Preheat oven to 300°F. and grease pans.
Finely chop chocolate and in a bowl combine with hot coffee. Let mixture stand, stirring occasionally, until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth.
Into a large bowl sift together sugar, flour, cocoa p
owder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. In another large bowl with an electric mixer beat eggs until thickened slightly and lemon colored. Slowly add oil, buttermilk, vanilla, and melted chocolate mixture to eggs, beating until combined well. Add sugar mixture and beat on medium speed until just combined well.
Bake until a tester inserted in center comes out clean. (1 hour for 9 inch rounds or 15 minutes for cupcakes)

enough said.

latelytagg and i became quite the wrestling spectators this season. my brother (and tagg's uncle) wrestled for his junior high school and we loved supporting him, even if it meant sitting on these hard bleachers.

not staged. makes this picture even cuter.

last week, the dental wives threw tagg a baby shower. we met at california pizza kitchen and had such a fun lunch! we passed around baby trivia cards and ate really yummy lemon cupcakes.

i am very grateful to the girls for being so generous and thoughtful. we had an awesome time.

it was very important to craig that this picture was taken. he wanted to document the huge snow storm we got last weekend. i wasnt nearly as excited, though. we got stuck trying to come home and had abandon our car and walk home (with tagg in his carseat and me in my dang sandals). i guess it was pretty but at the time i wasnt feeling the whole pioneer vibe. this is craig, after the ordeal.

ok, so this video isnt that amazing. but i thought i should document tagg and his noises. he really is the cutest thing i have ever seen. i love him a whole lot.
