go mitt!

it has been such a great week! i loved every second of the convention. we even had a little party to celebrate.

megan baked these elephant sugar cookies and i decorated them. they were almost too cute to eat! :)

and of course, we had to have the mitt cupcakes again.

mitt necklaces and a mitt quiz!

we ate delicious food (heres my mom and megan making bruschetta) while watching paul ryan's fantastic speech.

then we played "pick your favorite romney son".

megan and david won the mitt quiz so they both won mitts! (quite suspicious though.... seeing as they were the ones who "found" the quiz)

i tried to watch the speeches with these two crazies jumping on top of me. such a fun night. cant wait for november. (oh yeah, and the VP debates. now THOSE will be entertaining.)

kaitlin's baby shower

last week, emily and i threw a baby shower for kaitlin. she is having a little girl in a week and we are so excited for her! 

as my sweet mother said, "i mean, ive seen you do cuter things before....." about my little watercolor canvases on easels. i kind of agree with her, i am NO artist. but i had to use the mini easels (theyre so cute!). so whatever.

emily had the ingenius idea to do a dessert crepe bar at the shower. it was a total hit (she is a whiz at crepes) and a nice departure from cake and cupcakes.

the watercolored cups. it was very easy and i love the effect.

the spread, including the "watercolored" streamers. you just dip a roll of streamers in colored water, let it dry for a couple days and voila! ombre/watercolor streamers. 

we all wanted to punch kaitlin in the face because youre not supposed to look that good at 38 weeks! 

we had such a wonderful evening celebrating kaitlin and her baby girl. 

sully's birthday party

we celebrated sully's second birthday with friends and family last saturday night. i grew up reading the book blueberries for sal and have loved reading it to my boys too. and since my little sul loves picking/eating blueberries i thought it would be fun to make a party out of it! i took sully to pick berries a few weeks back so i could use a picture of him with blueberries for the invitation.

there is this amazing blueberry farm about eight minutes from our house and it was the perfect place for the party! craig, the boys and i set up for the party at the farm and then waited for our friends to arrive.

once sully's friends got there, they picked (more like snarfed down) berries before it was pizza time.

the feeding frenzy. i didnt get a chance to take a picture of the dinner set up (pizza, fruit salad, and sparkling blueberry juice) because the dinner was snarfed down too.

i was fine with dinner going quickly because then i got to put out the dessert. cake, cupcakes, and blueberry pie pops.

this was my first time making pie pops (pie dough even!) but i loved how they turned out. and cant wait to make them again. i superimposed sully's face onto the book cover of blueberries for sal and made it into the water bottle labels. anna said it looked creepy. rude.

then it was story time. i only got thru about two pages before we had a special visitor (the bear from the book) come to surprise the kids.

we had a bear at sully's party last year but it so entertaining (and went with the book) so we did it again.

then it was present time. sully was so freaking cute in his little crown.

he was quite excited about the present-opening situation.

after presents, it was cake time.

sully blew out his candles like a champ.

we love our little guy so much. look at that face. it would be impossible not to.

sully turned TWO

on wednesday, sully turned two. we had our usual family celebration with both sets of grandparents, cake, ice cream and presents. sully loved it. hes not one to shy away from attention.

can you tell i make my boys pose for pictures often? they have their cheesy grin down pat.

sully got a fish for his birthday. he named him "me". between our cat and sully i am kind of afraid for me's life.

a homemade gift that a friend would actually want

a few weeks ago i came across a tutorial for this easy and chic necklace. since then, i have made at least ten of these beauties and had three necklaces-making girls' nights. they are verrrrry easy and i love how simple they are.

remlinger farm with grandma & grandpa

last week, craig's mom and dad took us to remlinger farm. we had never been before so it was quite the treat! tagg rode his first horse (named coconut) and was the cutest freaking cowboy ever.

except i am pretty sure cowboys dont wear saltwaters......

the boys rode on this amazing little canoe ride. it was all so quaint.

next was the train with grandpa rod.

followed by the flying pumpkins with grandma cheri!

and before we left, we fed the crazy little goats. goats are greedy psychopaths. but my boys loved them. 

such a fun and memorable trip. my boys are very fortunate to live close to all their grandparents!
