FLORIDA
we traveled to florida a couple weeks ago with craigs parents. it was a new adventure for us and we enjoyed exploring a different part of the country.
the boys were excited for the long flight. ipads, lots of movies and candy stashes will do that to you.
our hotel was super family friendly and had a great bowling alley. the boys had so much fun.
my bowling buddy.
our first full day in orlando we went to HARRY POTTER WORLD. it was everything we hoped it would be... and more.
waiting in line for the gringotts ride. SO FUN.
the entire park was detailed to perfection. we felt like we were on our way to hogwarts!

you can buy these 'magic' wands that help you cast spells at certain places around diagon alley and hogsmeade. it was very cool.

a great (but pretty cold) day at universal studios.
i was loving the landscape. and the tiiiiiiiiny crescent moon.
and tagg was loving his sirius black wand.
the following morning we swam at the hotel pool and raced around in the lazy river.
then we started heading south. we stopped by this beach on the gulf side of florida that my friend told me had sand like powdered sugar. she was right! it was amazing. soooooo soft.
it was a beautiful, sunny day.
super soft (and cool. i heard some lady saying that there's quartz in the sand that keeps it cool) sand.
tagg buried my feet. he was begging to bury my entire body but i wasnt ready to commit to that.
that night we got to our hotel and the boys jumped right into the pool. there was alocal dive bar at the hotel and some guy was belting out jimmy buffett songs. pretty legit.

the next day we went to a beach called sanibel. it was a gorgeous day and the boys loved finding shells and dead sea creatures.
then we headed to the everglades. craig and the boys rode on an airboat to see the alligators. (we were short $5 cash for us all to go so i stayed behind. annoying!)
alligator!!!
then we went to like an alligator farm/amusement park type thing and saw more alligators up close.
and fed this weird bird guy.
craig and i (mostly me) had had enough of alligators so we started heading down to the florida keys. tagg & sully stayed at the alligator farm with rod and cheri a little longer. worth it for them.... the boys were able to hold baby alligators. highlight!
craig and i found this super cute and delicious lunch place on our way down to islamorada.
the key that we stayed at is called islamorada. it means purple isle because at sunset the sky turns purple. it was so pretty.
we had a lot of fun playing in the water.
and talking to tessy on facetime that night. :)

islamorada was sooooo pretty.
just relaxing in a hammock.
the next day we drove a few minutes over to where these huuuuuuuge fish called tarpons congregate to be fed by tourists. and the pelicans congregate to eat the scraps.
the bucket of weird looking fish you buy to feed the tarpon.

you cant really tell how large these fish were. trust me. they were huge.
after feeding the fish we went back to our hotel to play in the water.
another pretty (almost) sunset.
this was the view from rod and cheri's sweet suite. :)
looking for fish.
i (obviously) couldnt get enough of this view.

valentines day with craig! we really liked the florida keys.
on our last day in florida we drove up to miami to walk around. the boys' hair was SUPER curly from all the moisture in the air. hahahaha
miami beach was very pretty. the water was SO warm.
we played in the sand/water until we had to leave to catch our flight. a very fun week!
32nd birthday
i celebrated my 32nd birthday this month. very grateful for sweet family and friends who made me feel extra special.

tess took me to get a manicure pedicure. such a thoughtful girl. :)
we went to bqq and the fun center with friends to play some laser tag & race on the go karts. a great birthday week!

tagg was baptized
we were very proud of tagg a couple weeks ago when he decided to be baptized and become an official member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. :) he looked so handsome with his suit, new scriptures and the biggest smile.
we had a selection of tagg's favorite treats for our family & friends to enjoy after the baptism.
cannot believe craig and i have an eight year old!
the proud grandparents.
more proud grandparents.
getting ready!
my cousin, grace, and craig's cousin, tyler, each gave amazing talks at the baptism. they were seriously perfection. after the baptism we all went out for dinner and the boys LOVED spending time with tyler.
tagg is a great example to sully and tess. we are very proud of him and the good choices he makes.

tagg is EIGHT
tagg turned eight years old today. he requested a 'star wars/BB8' theme birthday party. it just so happened that the target dollar section was filled with star wars stuff. a few weeks ago. win. this was the picture we used for the invitation.
ready for friends!
a little pun never hurt anyone.

the cake table.... without the cake. this was the day before the party (so i didnt have the cake yet) but the lighting looked just like hyperdrive!
tagg and the stormtrooper balloons.
you better move, tess! (the game was to shoot the balloons with a nerf gun)

tagg's friends are very fun.
heres the cake. and maybe a frosting finger swipe?....... tess?........

enjoying cake, ice cream and grape soda. healthy!

treat bags.
tagg loved every minute of his party. especially presents and the nacho machine. we love you, tagg!

walking, glasses & karaoke
a little shy of 15 months and tess is walking! she has been cruising around forever but she finally got the courage to let go! we love her so much.

i took tagg to get his eyes checked. turns out he is a little far sighted. the whole eyes testing thing was quite the ordeal (especially when she put those drops in to dilate his eyes) but he was so incredibly brave.
now that i am thinking about it, this whole post is about being brave. because last week rachelle and i went to a local bar and sang karaoke in front of a hundred or so strangers! ha. it was very fun and im glad to have her as a sister.

skiing
we took the boys skiing for their first time last saturday. it took a WHOLE lot of preparation getting all the snow gear together but it was worth it.
sully was pretty cold (it was 15 degrees!) but he soldiered on and did a great job. seeing him get on the little carpet never got old.
he's doing it!
tagg had a complete blast. he didnt complain for one second while we were on the mountain (even when he fell) and kept saying "this is SO MUCH FUN".
it was a cold but beautiful day.
my little skier.
riding the lift with tucker!
tagg & tucker.
someone call warren miller.
a seriously great day.
happy new year!
we had a great new years downtown again. i made sugar cookies (the star in this picture. my mom says she cant tell what it is), brought martinellis and looooooots of balloons so we could PARTY.
before craig and i headed downtown we shot confetti guns with the boys and dressed tess up in her party dress.
capital grille.
partying hard.
these big mylar number balloons are my favorite. happy 2016!
