"why am i sucking on my fum?"
photo (8)
thats what tagg just said when he saw this picture. good question tagg. why WERE you sucking on your thumb? its ok though. it was his first time standing in front of all his friends in primary. they all sang happy birthday to him. and i might have cried. so what?

photo (7)
i snapped this picture of tagg and his friends as they were lined up ready to go into primary. he was being sassy and telling me to bug off. i am already the annoying mom my kids just try to get rid of.

snow day 2012
snow2012a
church was cancelled yesterday (i know. i know. seattle is a complete wimp when dealing with snow) so we were able to spend the gorgeous day together hunkered down at home.

snow2012b
snow makes everything prettier.

snow2012e
after we put sully down for his afternoon nap, we bundled up and went outside. first, we had to make tagg's first snowman. while craig worked on that situation, i took more pictures....

snow2012c

snow2012d

snow2012h copy
with a cheeto for a nose and raisins for eyes, our little guy was all finished.

snow2012h
but then tagg and i decided he needed a hat and scarf.

snow2012f
after frosty the snowman (yup, thats what craig named him. i sometimes wonder if craig is literally amelia bedelia) was done, craig and tagg had a little snowball fight. and yes. those are freaking socks on tagg's hands. the two times i skied during my childhood (i grew up in san diego) i wore jeans. so socks for gloves just comes naturally to me.

snow2012g
my mom laughed when i showed her these pictures. she said "you are SO contrived". ok, yeah. maybe i threw the blanket around tagg to make the picture look more cozy. but tagg really did ask for marshmallows with hot chocolate (ha!) when we came back inside. so there.

snow2012i
tagg and his first snowman. very fun.

let in snow.... but not really.
snowflakecupcake
its finally supposed to snow here next week. its weird that a couple years ago we had a total white christmas and this year it has barely even rained. its been so nice. don't get me wrong, i enjoy snow... but only the kind thats pretty to look at from the comfort of my home and then mysteriously disappears so that the roads are clear and life can go on as normal. so let it snow!.... but only a little bit.

tagg & sully
tagg&sully010812
tagg is turning FOUR in less than a month. he is such a happy and busy boy. he loves school, going to the movies with his grandpa, sugar, and pop music. he has the best one-liners ever. today's was:
"i was standing right here, staring at her and she just walked right past me and didnt say anything." (referring to his "girlfriend" at church).
sully will be one and a half in february. he is an active little mama's boy. he loves cuddling, FOOD, animals and tagg. he is such a smart boy and learns new words every day.
craig and i love our two boys very much.

insanely delicious bruschetta
bruschetta01
my aunt megan, is a professional recipe perfecter. seriously, she is an amazing cook and her bruschetta is our ultimate guilty pleasure lately.

bruschetta
2 large tomatoes
1 clove garlic
3 tablespoons LIGHT olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
8-10 leaves fresh basil
1 french baguette
4 tablespoons butter
1 cup (or so) fresh mozzarella
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup sugar

bruschetta03
dice tomato into quarter inch chunks. mince garlic. slice basil. mix together tomato, garlic, basil, salt and olive oil. set aside.

bruschetta04
cut bread into half inch slices. place slices onto baking sheet. butter the top of each slice. place under broiler until JUST golden brown on edges.

bruschetta02
remove bread from oven. place slices of mozzarella on each piece of bread. put bread back under the broiler until cheese has melted. remove from oven and drizzle olive oil over slices.

bruschetta06
over medium to high heat, stir together sugar and balsamic vinegar until sugar has dissolved (about one and a half minutes). place a spoonful of tomato mixture on to each piece of bread. drizzle balsamic reduction on top of bruschetta.

bruschetta05
enjoy. or do like megan and i did today and eat a slice or two and then put the rest in the bottom (because we have been known to dumpster dive for food) of the trash so you don't eat the entire plate!

ringing in 2012
newyear2012a
i am not really the biggest fan of new years eve. it ends up being a nite where you feel like you HAVE to do something (even if you dont want to. you feel like a loser if you dont). but its also a fun excuse to get friends together, play games, and eat junk.

photo (7)
so thats exactly what we did.

newyear2012c
tagg doesnt usually like to put anything on his head but he fell in love with that NYE hat and wouldnt take it off. elliot was such a happy little boy despite his broken leg! luke and marissa are visiting from florida so we were so happy to have them celebrate with us.

photo (8)
before my boys went to bed, we set off a few "fireworks" to appease tagg.

newyear2012d
along with the other yummy treats we had, my aunt, megan, made her sugar cookies and bruschetta for us to snack on. her bruscetta is seriously one of my favorite foods on this planet.

newyear2012b
high school friends (our ten year reunion is this year. crazy)! happy 2012.
